Burlington is in the unique situation of being completely and undeniably great. Sure, we’re a little biased, but we’re not just saying that. With its residents clocking in at just fewer than 43,000, Burlington is Vermont’s largest city. During the school year, the University of Vermont, and Champlain College (ranked #1) by U.S. News & World Report, for Up-and-Coming schools) add substantially to this number, creating a vibrancy worthy of the “Best College Town in America” honor (Travel + Leisure, 2013).
Although many of the students return home for the summer months, Burlington’s tourism industry thrives, giving the warmer months a worldly vibe - it seems everybody knows Burlington’s reputation for high marks. The City has ranked in the “Top Tens” for several variables, from health to livability, outdoor recreation, adventure, and safety, packing quite the punch when it comes to quality of life.
With numerous outdoor opportunities for nature lovers, prestigious colleges and universities, walkable neighborhoods, shopping and plenty of restaurants for the foodie in all of us, Burlington offers something for just about everyone.
